The Downtown Cairo Food Tour

This is a walking food tour; meaning that guests will also have the opportunity to walk through the lively streets of Downtown Cairo and learn about it’s rich history and architecture. Guests will also get the opportunity to mingle with locals and other travelers on the tour (unless it’s a private booking) all while learning about our diverse Egyptian culture.
On this tour guests get to try Egyptian sausages, Koshari, home-style Egyptian dishes. They also get to try other famous Egyptian such as molokhiya, fried eggplants and of course ful and taamiya.
Not only do guests try a wide variety of dishes, but they also get a behind the scene look into how some of these dishes are made.

The price of the tour includes:

A local, English speaking tour guide telling your guests about the stories of the food and landmarks of Downtown

How to prepare
your guests
To ensure your guests have the best experience, you can share the following tips with them:
We recommend that guests wear comfortable (closed-toe) shoes to enjoy the walks with maximum comfort.
Wearing clothes made with airy materials is best in the summer. We highly recommend that guests stay away from certain articles of clothing (eg. crop tops, hot shorts, mini skirts, low-cut tops …) to avoid unwanted attention on the streets. This is a suggestion and by no means a strict requirement.
For the winter, layering is key as it can be warm in the afternoons but cold and windy in the evenings, especially on the rooftop bar we end the tour at.
On the day of the tour, we highly suggest guests skip lunch so they can enjoy the wide variety of food on the tour to the fullest. We guarantee that the guests will be full and satisfied at the end of the tour.
